Day passes in Troodos: what to know
The Troodos mountains are Cyprus' cool escape, about an hour's drive from the coast. In Platres, a hill resort among pine forest, a hotel sells a day at its heated outdoor pool from spring to autumn. In Kalopanayiotis, a stone village known for its sulphur springs, a spa hotel runs two-hour sessions in its hydrotherapy pool and thermal suites.
Summer up here is noticeably cooler than on the coast, and the spa sessions run all year, winter included. Sessions start at set times, and under-12s are not allowed in the spa, so check the details before you go.
