Day passes in Athens: what to know
Athens day passes come in two kinds. In the centre, hotels in Koukaki, Psyrri and Kolonaki have pools with views of the Acropolis or Lycabettus Hill, several of them on the roof. They suit a hot afternoon between sights. North of the centre, in the greener suburbs of Kifisia, Marousi and Ekali, hotel pools sit in gardens. The day feels more like a resort, with sunbeds and, at one hotel, a gazebo bed for two.
The pools open for the warm months, roughly May to October, and a few close in September. For the rest of the year there is a spa pass in Kifisia with an indoor pool, sauna and hammam. Each hotel sets its own hours, age rules and what the pass includes, so read the pass details before you book.
