Which hotel spas in Athens can you use for a day?

Going by their own websites on 6 October 2026, four hotels offer a day pass or a spa-day package. One is on Hotelday; for the rest, ask the hotel, and check that you can book without a room.

Theoxenia Palace (Orloff Spa), Kifisia

Theoxenia Palace is a five-star hotel at 2 Filadelfeos Street in Kifisia, in the northern suburbs. Orloff runs the spa, and it's indoors, so it's open all year.

The day pass covers the indoor heated pool, the sauna and the hammam, from 12:00 to 20:00. It's for adults and guests over 16. Spa treatments are booked separately.

You send a booking request, the hotel confirms your booking, and you pay at the hotel. You don't need an account. At the front desk, show your booking reference and a photo ID.

Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens

This spa on the Athens Riviera is open year-round, 09:00–21:00. Its adults-only Fountain House has an aroma steam grotto, chill showers, a sauna and a hammam. The hotel says it's also open to any guest with a day pass.

The spa's indoor pool has family hours from 09:00 to 14:00, for ages 7 to 15. After that, it's adults only. Treatments are for guests aged 16 and over, except family treatments for ages 7 to 15 with a parent, before 15:00. The page doesn't explain how to buy a day pass, so ask the spa.

Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, Vouliagmeni

The hotel's Divani Athens Spa & Thalasso Center sells 1-day spa packages. Each lists the thalassotherapy pool, steam room and sauna, plus treatments. The hotel says the pool holds heated seawater at 32 °C.

It's open 10:00–22:00 on weekdays and 10:00–19:00 at weekends. Pool sessions last 45 minutes, with limited numbers. There are no appointments for children under 16. You'll fill in a health form first, and the spa doesn't admit pregnant guests or people with heart conditions to the facilities.

One&Only Aesthesis, Glyfada

This beach resort's Guerlain Spa has a sauna, a heated outdoor pool and 10 treatment rooms, including two double suites for couples. It's open 09:00–20:00.

The spa page lists a Spa Day Package from Monday to Friday: a 60-minute massage or facial, plus lunch. It doesn't say if the pool and sauna are included, or if you can book without a room, so ask the spa.

Where can you go to a traditional hammam in Athens?

Two working hammams in central Athens are open to the public every day: Hammam Baths in Thiseio and Al Hammam Traditional Baths in Plaka. At both, you can bathe on your own or add a scrub and massage.

Hammam Baths, Thiseio

Hammam Baths (Hammam Bathing House Athens) is at Agion Asomaton 17 and Melidoni 1. It's open 11:00–22:30 on weekdays and 10:00–22:30 at weekends. Self-bathing is a 60-minute steam bath with olive-oil soap flakes and a natural loofah. Rituals with a masseur add a kese scrub, a soap-foam wash and a massage.

Al Hammam Traditional Baths, Plaka

Al Hammam Traditional Baths is at Tripodon 16. Its contact page lists 13:00–21:00 daily, so confirm the time when you book. The Self-Administered Hammam takes 50 minutes, with steam, a kese glove and olive-oil soap. Rituals add a scrub and a soap-foam massage, and run from 50 to 150 minutes. The venue strongly recommends booking ahead.

The Bath House of the Winds is a museum

In Plaka you'll also pass the Bath House of the Winds, at Kyrristou 8. The Museum of Modern Greek Culture calls it the only public bath in Athens that survives. It closed as a bath in 1965 and is now a museum.

How did we choose?

We included hotel spas in the Athens area whose own websites offer a day pass or a spa-day package. We went by each hotel's own website, checked on 6 October 2026. We added the city's working public hammams, and left out spas that only sell treatments.

Theoxenia Palace (Orloff Spa) comes first because it's the only one you can book on Hotelday. We name the others for completeness, with no booking link.

GB Spa at Hotel Grande Bretagne is temporarily closed for renovation. We also checked six other Athens hotel spas whose sites don't mention day access, so we left them out.

Hotel spa or hammam: which suits your day?

A hotel spa gives you hours with a pool, sauna and steam, and treatments are booked separately. A basic hammam bath takes 50 to 60 minutes. You warm up in the steam, scrub with a kese glove on a warm marble surface, then finish with a cold rinse.

Pick a hotel spa for a slow day with a pool, or a hammam for a shorter visit in the centre.

What should you bring, and what's the etiquette?

From the venues' own pages:

  • Swimsuit. Divani Apollon requires one in the water. At both hammams, wear a swimsuit or the disposable underwear they provide.
  • Towels and robes. Divani Apollon and Al Hammam provide towels, slippers and a bathrobe. Hammam Baths gives you a peshtemal, the traditional hammam towel. Elsewhere, ask.
  • Make-up and sunscreen. Hammam Baths asks you to remove them before your visit.
  • Timing. Divani Apollon asks you to arrive 15 minutes before a treatment, and charges for appointments not cancelled 24 hours ahead.
  • Phones. Divani Apollon doesn't allow phones or photos in the treatment rooms or the thalasso pool area.
  • Health. If you have a health condition, Hammam Baths suggests asking your doctor before you book.
