Which hotel spas in Thessaloniki can you use for a day?

On 12 October 2026, you could book two hotel spas in Thessaloniki on Hotelday without a room. You'll find both on the Thessaloniki spa day passes page. A third, at Egnatia Palace, takes outside visitors directly but is closed until November.

The Met Hotel is a Chandris hotel on 26 Oktovriou Street, on the western waterfront near the port. Its M'Spa is indoors, and the hotel lists no seasonal closure.

The pass covers the indoor heated pool, the jacuzzi, the steam room and the fitness centre. The hotel says the pool has a hydrojet mode. Towels, a bathrobe, slippers and a locker are included, and the spa provides shampoo, shower gel and hair dryers.

The spa is open 08:00–21:00 on weekdays and 09:00–21:00 at weekends. Massages, facials and the hotel's Day M'Spa packages are booked separately, by appointment with the spa.

The hotel's outdoor pool runs from 1 May to early October, weather permitting. You can add it to a spa visit in summer, for an extra charge at the hotel. The hotel's site doesn't give an age rule for the spa, so ask before you bring children.

You send a booking request, the hotel confirms your booking, and you pay at the hotel. You don't need an account. At the front desk, show your booking reference and a photo ID.

Makedonia Palace (Hammam Baths), seafront

Makedonia Palace is a five-star hotel at M. Alexandrou 2, on the seafront promenade. Its Hammam Baths open every day, and the hotel lists no seasonal closure. The company behind them also runs Hammam Baths in Athens.

The pass is a 60-minute self-bathing session, not a full-day pass. You get the steam bath with olive-oil soap flakes and a natural loofah. Sessions run between 13:00 and 22:00, and Hotelday agrees your start time with the hotel. We found no age rule for the hammam, so ask before you bring children.

The hammam also offers rituals, which aren't part of the pass. Each pairs a 30-minute steam bath with 30 or 50 minutes of service. That can mean a scrub with the traditional ketseas glove, a body and hair wash and a soap-foam massage.

There are dry-room massages and a Sothys facial too, and a private hammam for you and the people you bring. Book these with the hammam directly.

Booking the session works the same way as at The Met: a request, the hotel's confirmation, and payment at the hotel.

Where else can you go for a spa day in Thessaloniki?

One more hotel spa we checked says it welcomes visitors who aren't staying. It isn't on Hotelday, so you book it with the hotel.

Egnatia Palace Hotel, city centre

Egnatia Palace is at Egnatia 61, a few metres from Aristotelous Square. Its spa has an indoor heated pool, a jacuzzi, a Finnish sauna, a solarium and a gym, plus massages. The hotel says the spa is for its guests and for visitors from all over Thessaloniki.

It usually opens daily, 12:00–21:00. But the hotel says the spa and gym are closed for renovation from 15 June to 2 November 2026. Call the hotel before you plan a visit.

Bey Hamam is a monument, not a working bath

On Egnatia Street you'll also pass the Bey Hamam (Loutra Paradeisos). The Ministry of Culture calls it the city's oldest hammam and the largest Ottoman bath in Greece. Sultan Murad II founded it in 1444.

It's a twin bath, with separate men's and women's sides, and it worked as a bath until 1968. After restoration, it was inaugurated in June 2026 as a cultural venue for events and educational programmes. It's no longer a bath, so you can't bathe there.

How did we choose?

We included hotel spas in the Thessaloniki urban area that sell spa access to people who aren't staying. We went by Hotelday's live listings and each hotel's own website, checked on 12 October 2026. Halkidiki is outside this guide.

The Met Hotel and Makedonia Palace come first because you can book them on Hotelday. We name Egnatia Palace for completeness, with no booking link.

We also checked nine other Thessaloniki hotel spas. Their sites don't mention day access, or wouldn't open when we checked, so we left them out.

Hotel spa or hammam: which suits your day?

A hotel spa pass gives you hours with a pool, steam and a gym, and treatments are booked separately. A hammam session is shorter. You warm up in the steam, wash with olive-oil soap and a loofah, then rinse off.

Pick The Met for a slow day with a pool, or the Makedonia Palace hammam for an hour by the sea.

What should you bring, and what's the etiquette?

  • Swimsuit. Pack one for The Met's pool. For the hammam, the company that runs it says to wear a swimsuit or the disposable underwear it provides.
  • Towels and robes. The Met provides towels, bathrobes, slippers, a locker, shampoo, shower gel and hair dryers. The hammam company gives you a peshtemal, the traditional hammam towel.
  • Make-up and sunscreen. The hammam company asks you to remove them before your visit.
  • Treatments. The Met books massages and facials by appointment. Book the hammam's rituals and massages with the hammam directly.
  • Health. If you have a health condition, the hammam company suggests asking your doctor before you book.
  • At the front desk. For a Hotelday pass, bring your booking reference and a photo ID. The cancellation window is shown on each pass before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Can you use a hotel spa in Thessaloniki without staying there?
Yes. The Met Hotel sells M'Spa day access on Hotelday, and Makedonia Palace sells a 60-minute hammam session. Egnatia Palace's spa also welcomes outside visitors, but it's closed until 2 November 2026.
How much does a spa day in Thessaloniki cost?
It depends on the venue, the day and what's included, such as a massage. The current prices for The Met and Makedonia Palace are on their cards above. Treatments and spa packages are priced separately by each hotel.
Is there a spa for couples in Thessaloniki?
The Met's spa lists a Day M'Spa package for two people. It adds a massage, a short facial and a fruit salad to the spa facilities; ask whether you can book it without a room. The Makedonia Palace hammam offers a private hammam for you and the people you bring.
Are spas in Thessaloniki open on Sunday?
Yes, both hotel spas on Hotelday open every day. The Met's M'Spa opens at 09:00 on Saturday and Sunday. At the Makedonia Palace hammam, Hotelday sessions run between 13:00 and 22:00 every day.
What's the difference between a hammam and a sauna?
A hammam is humid steam; a sauna is dry heat. The company behind the Makedonia Palace hammam puts a hammam at about 40 °C with 80–90% humidity. It puts a sauna at over 80 °C, with under 15% humidity.
Is there a traditional hammam in Thessaloniki?
Yes. The Hammam Baths at Makedonia Palace are a working hammam, open every day. The Bey Hamam on Egnatia Street is the city's oldest, but today it's a monument and cultural venue, not a bath.
